LOCATION: Overnight closures of northbound and southbound Interstate 5 between South Boeing Access Road and State Route 599 in south Seattle from Friday, Sept. 19 to Monday, Sept. 22. Both directions of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South/State Route 900 and the Interurban Avenue South on-ramp to northbound I-5 will also be closed.

DETAILS:  

  • Friday, Sept. 19 to the morning of Sunday, Sept. 21
    • All lanes of northbound and southbound I-5 between South Boeing Access Road and SR 599 will close nightly from 11:59 p.m. to 6 a.m.
    • Both directions of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South/SR 900 between South Boeing Access Road and South 129th Street will close nightly from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Drivers will follow a signed detour.
    • The Interurban Avenue South on-ramp to northbound I-5 will close nightly from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Drivers will follow a signed detour.
  • Saturday, Sept. 20 only
    • WSDOT maintenance crews will reduce Northbound I-5 to one right lane from South Boeing Access Road to the I-90 interchange from 11:59 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.  The northbound I-5 off-ramp to Corson Avenue South will also close.
  • Sunday, Sept. 21 to the morning of Monday, Sept. 22
    • All lanes of northbound and southbound I-5 between South Boeing Access Road and SR 599 will close from 11:59 p.m. to 5 a.m.
    • Both directions of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South/SR 900 between South Boeing Access Road and South 129th Street will close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Drivers will follow a signed detour.
    • The Interurban Avenue South on-ramp to northbound I-5 will close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Drivers will follow a signed detour.

I-5 Detour details:

  • Northbound I-5 – All northbound I-5 traffic will be diverted to northbound SR 599, exit to Pacific Highway South, then continue onto South Boeing Access Road back to northbound I-5.
  • Southbound I-5 – All southbound I-5 traffic will be diverted to westbound South Boeing Access Road, exit to Pacific Highway South, then continue onto southbound SR 599 back to southbound I-5.
