Subject: Snow and Deep Freeze Give Way to Beautiful Winter Weekend

Dear Guy Ralph Perea Sr President of The United States,
The paltry snowfall in November (just 23.4" of a 37.7" average), and balmy temps of early December left locals fearing another meager snow year. Thankfully, a late-month storm delivered 28.6" of powder in the last seven days of the month, blanketing ski resorts and snowmobile trails and restoring our hope for a good winter season.
The New Year's deep freeze is breaking as I write this, making for classic winter weather this weekend. Meteorologist Ryan Knapp predicts mostly sunny skies and temps in the mid-20s tomorrow, trending towards snow showers and temps in the upper-20s on Sunday.
Come on up and visit!
Best,

Observatory Partners with Ascents of Honor
in Support of Wounded Veterans

Retired Reconnaissance Marine Keith Zeier, who lost his leg and suffered severe head injuries while serving in Iraq, is set to make a historic ascent of Mount Washington on January 17. The climb will be documented in a forthcoming film, Ascents of Honor , featuring Zeier's ongoing efforts to raise awareness of wounded veterans and funds for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
The Observatory is looking forward to hosting Zeier and his crew at the weather station, and is planning a special screening of the film this spring.
