FREIGHT TRAVEL ADVISORY: I-90 at SR 902

LOCATION: Westbound and eastbound I-90 at the SR 902/Medical Lake Interchange (Exit 272) near Spokane.
DETAILS: On Tuesday, August 21 from about 4 a.m. until as late as 8 p.m., the overpass bridge will be fully closed to traffic for bridge deck repair and asphalt paving. All ramps will remain open.
IMPACT: Westbound traffic cannot access truck services or industrial facilities to the south of the freeway from this interchange. Westbound traffic must use the Geiger Blvd. Exit (exit 276) and follow the detour signage on local roads adjacent to the freeway. Travel time to reach the truck service and industrial area from the Geiger Interchange via the detour route is about 15 minutes, depending on traffic.
In addition, eastbound traffic cannot access destinations to the north of the freeway using this interchange. Detours for eastbound traffic are also on adjacent road accessed from the Geiger Blvd. Exit (exit 276). There is no impact to mainline freeway through traffic during this work.
Also, traffic on SR 902 from the City of Medical Lake inbound to Spokane will be directed to detour routes.
ADDITIONAL IMPACTS: Later Tuesday evening, or in the early Wednesday morning hours, paving work on the I-90 mainline will require the eastbound on and off ramps to be closed for several hours. The exact times cannot be predicted. Eastbound drivers can use the Geiger Interchange (exit 276) and Westbow Road to reach truck services at the Medical Lake Interchange during that period.
