The Dodgers made an aggressive trade to acquire Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford and Nick Punto from the Red Sox, giving the Dodgers a boost down the stretch in their pennant push. The Giants still maintain the lead in the National League West, and Cincinnati has developed the Majors' biggest division lead in the Central. The Nationals maintain control of the East behind Cy Young contender Stephen Strasburg. The Rangers -- defending American League champions -- have stayed solid in pursuit of another division title, and the White Sox maintain an edge in the Central. Perhaps the game's greatest story is a surprising race in the AL East, which is topped by the Yankees, with Baltimore and Tampa Bay in close pursuit.
