Subject: WSDOT ALERT: Southbound I-5 lane and ramp closure for bridge inspection near Toledo

DESCRIPTION: The right lane of southbound I-5 and the Cowlitz River Bridge on-ramp (milepost 59) south of Toledo are closed for bridge inspection. Earlier this morning, a semi-truck hit a portion of the steel truss that supports the bridge over the Cowlitz River (photos attached). WSDOT bridge inspectors are currently assessing the damage. Drivers should use caution and expect delays. There is no estimate for reopening the lane or the ramp.
