Newington Man Sentenced to 6 Years in Prison for Role in Coast-to-Coast Cocaine Trafficking Ring

Deirdre M. Daly, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that JERMAINE JENKINS, 34, formerly of Newington, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Michael P. Shea in Hartford to 72 months of imprisonment, followed by four years of supervised release, for his role in a cocaine trafficking ring.

Defendant Sentenced on Federal Firearm Charged

Project Safe Neighborhood Prosecution

United States Attorney Kenyen R. Brown of the Southern District of Alabama announces that Charlie Lewis Davis of Mobile was sentenced, following an October 2014 guilty plea to a charge of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. Davis was previously convicted in Baldwin County of Manslaughter and Possession of Marijuana, First Degree in 2005. By virtue of these convictions, Davis is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.

Defendant Sentenced on Federal Firearm Charged

Project Safe Neighborhood Prosecution

United States Attorney Kenyen R. Brown of the Southern District of Alabama announces that Kenneth Jerome Wade, Jr. of Mobile was sentenced, following an October 2014 guilty plea to a charge of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. Wade was previously convicted of Theft of Property, Second Degree, in Pike County in 2004; and, Possession of Forged Instrument, Second Degree, in Mobile County in 2004. By virtue of these convictions, Wade is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.

Two Highlands County Men Sentenced for Firearm and Drug Trafficking Offenses

Two Highlands County men who shot two law enforcement officers during the execution of the arrest warrants were sentenced for firearm and drug trafficking offenses.  Wifredo A. Ferrer, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, A.D. Wright, Acting Special Agent in Charge, DEA, Miami Field Division, Amos Rojas, Jr., U.S. Marshal, U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), Hugo Barrera, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), John Burke and Troy Walker, Special Agents in Charge, Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Ft. Myers and Miami Regional Offices, respectively, Susan Benton, Sheriff, Highlands County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), Paul C. May, Sheriff, Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), and Ken J. Mascara, Sheriff, St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office (SLCSO), made the announcement.
