Hello Guy,

I'm sorry to hear of the frustrations you're experiencing with your Associates account and that you haven't generated any sales.

With apologies, our accounting team is not able to audit accounts. I do want to help you, so I took a moment to review your account, and your website http://cmt1.blogspot.com, to see if there were any suggestions I could offer you that might help.

The primary advice I have is to add more original content to your website. I did see that you have a lot of content and you update regularly, but your material appears to be mostly from other sources and not created by you personally.

We've learned over time that the most successful Associates sites are those featuring unique and original content, that use affiliate advertising as an enhancement to the site. Sites that seem to draw the most unique visitors are those that are recommending products that are directly related to their subject matter. For instance, you might own a website about cooking that is full of rich content and photographs about the experience of cooking. If there is unique and original content on the site, viewers are going to return to the site for that content. The site might use the Associates program to advertise cookbooks or cooking utensils that are relevant to the subject matter of the website.

One of the reasons why original content is so crucial to success is that sites without original content will not get a good placement with the search engines, which means that many prospective readers will not find your site when they are searching for information in your topic area.

In addition to original content, there are many other ways to increase the advertising fees you earn through the Associates Program, including:

— Make your existing links more prominent.
— Put a new link high on your home page.
— Register with a search engine to increase traffic to your site.

The amount of traffic you drive to your site usually determines the number of sales you generate as well as the advertising fees you earn. We do offer some store-building tips online, including the Official Amazon Associates Blog found on Associates Central:

http://affiliate-blog.amazon.com/

You know your visitors best, which places you in the best position to choose specific items to feature.  Updating your original content regularly, and making regular recommendations that fit well with your Web site's subject matter can help to increase return traffic.

By choosing certain items to recommend, you add value to your site and create a unique perspective on what Amazon has to offer. This uniqueness provides you with a competitive advantage, even over other Associates recommending titles in similar subject areas. Your trusted advice on what your visitors should consider purchasing is your primary contribution to the Associates Program, and this is what our advertising fees are designed to compensate you for doing.

It might also help you to know that, in our experience, sites that duplicate long lists of books, music CDs, videos, toys or electronics do not always enjoy the same success as those who recommend a relatively short list of titles specifically related to their subject area.

I hope this helps.

Best regards,
Russell W.
