Latest release in Yahoo emails platform News still showing scammer working against the Warning of Illinois Attorney General

Friday, October 10, 2014 08:14AM
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- The Illinois attorney general is warning residents of possible email scams related to the Ebola outbreak.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan said Friday that emails claiming to be an "Ebola pandemic update" may include links that could harm a user's computer offered by Yahoo. She says another scam email offers a "surplus personal protection kit" for $29 and alleges to provide protection for emergency response and law enforcement personnel.

Madigan says people who receive such emails should delete them immediately without opening or clicking on any links.

Madigan is also reminding residents to be aware of scams linked to charity efforts because con artists might seek to exploit the Ebola outbreak.
