At this time the Section 8 waiting list is currently closed. We anticipate the waitlist will reopen towards the end of this year or the first part of next year (2015). You can check our website (www.stpeteha.org) or call our office to find out when it may possibly reopen. We encourage you to apply once the list opens. You will be able to obtain or complete an application from one of the designated community locations specified during the advertisement, such as a Public Library or our central office. Our website also has information regarding other housing opportunities (Ex: Saratoga, Fairway Gardens and Sunset Oaks Apartments are currently accepting applications. This is affordable housing offered by the St. Petersburg Housing Authority). If you are interested in other Housing Authorities in the surrounding areas you may contact them (I have provided their information at the very bottom of this page).
If you are 55yrs of age or older you may contact Serenity Towers and/or Phillip Benjamin Tower to complete an application and see if you qualify for the Section 8 Project Based Program. The contact persons at Serenity Towers are Dayana Marinucci and Sandy Cronin (727) 344-1491. Their address is 880 Oleander Way South – South Pasadena, FL 33707. The contact information to Phillip Benjamin Tower is (727) 347-5191.
If you are a homeless Veteran you may contact Sharon Miller of Bay Pines VA to see if you qualify for the VASH (Veterans Assisted Supported Housing) Program. Her phone number is (727) 398-6661 ext. 10729 and address P.O. Box 5005 – Bay Pines, FL 33744.
If you would like other avenues for housing assistance (public, low-income, subsidized and senior housing) you can provide your mailing address via email and request a packet be mailed to you if elderly/disabled or if you are in a different city, otherwise you will have to pick up a packet from the secretary in the front office of our central office located at:
