Westbound I-90 detailed lane and ramp closures July 18-25

Lanes and ramps will begin closing beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 18. In order to create a safe work zone and traffic lanes for drivers, the contractor will need to restripe the interstate at the beginning of the work, during the switch from Phase 1 to Phase 2 and at the end to return the interstate to its normal configuration. Detailed lane and ramp closures necessary for this work is outlined by day.

Friday, July 18

8 p.m. to 3 a.m. (closed temporarily for restriping work)
- Southbound Bellevue Way general purpose ramp to westbound I-90 closed (All drivers may use the HOV ramp until 3 a.m.).
8 p.m. - 5 a.m. (closed temporarily for restriping work)
- Westbound I-90 ramp to East Mercer Way. Drivers will be detoured to Island Crest Way.
- Northbound and southbound I-405 ramps to westbound I-90. Drivers will be detoured east on I-90 to 148th Avenue S.E. and turned around to travel west on I-90.
8 p.m.
- Westbound I-90 lanes begin narrowing with the interstate down to one lane by 9:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 19

3 a.m.
- Southbound Bellevue Way HOV ramp to westbound I-90 closed for Phase 1 closes (all drivers will use the general purpose ramp).
5 a.m. – Phase one in effect
- Closed:
  - All but one lane of westbound I-90 between approximately I-405 and Bellevue Way.
  - The three left lanes across the bridge itself to East Mercer Way.
  - The Bellevue Way HOV on-ramp to westbound I-90. All drivers use the general purpose ramp.
  - The southbound I-405 HOV ramp to westbound I-90. All drivers use the general purpose ramp.
- Open:
  - Three lanes open from approximately Bellevue Way and across the East Channel Bridge. Interstate 90 returns to its normal configuration near East Mercer Way.
  - The exit to East Mercer Way.
  - The Bellevue Way general purpose ramp to westbound I-90.
  - The southbound I-405 general purpose ramp to westbound I-90.
  - The northbound I-405 exit to westbound I-90.

Sunday, July 20 – Phase one in effect until approximately 8 p.m.

10 p.m. - 5 a.m. (closed temporarily for restriping work to begin Phase 2, time is approximate):
- Westbound I-90 ramp to East Mercer Way. Drivers will be detoured to Island Crest Way.
- Northbound and southbound I-405 ramps to westbound I-90. Drivers will be detoured east on I-90 to 148th Avenue S.E. and turned around to travel west on I-90.
- Southbound Bellevue Way general purpose or HOV on-ramp to westbound I-90. The ramps will not be closed at the same time. When the general purpose ramp is closed, all drivers may use the HOV ramp.

Monday, July 21 to Thursday, July 24

5 a.m. – Phase 2 in effect (time is approximate)
- Closed:
  - All but one lane of westbound I-90 between I-405 and Bellevue Way.
  - The three right lanes across the bridge itself to East Mercer Way.
  - The Bellevue Way general purpose ramp to westbound I-90 (all drivers will use the HOV ramp).
  - The southbound I-405 HOV ramp to westbound I-90 (all drivers use the general purpose ramp).
- Open:
  - The three left lanes across the bridge itself. The interstate returns to its normal configuration near East Mercer Way.
  - The Bellevue Way HOV ramp to westbound I-90 (open to all drivers).
  - The southbound I-405 general purpose ramp to westbound I-90.
  - The exit to East Mercer Way.
  - The HOV lanes between I-405 and approximately the entrance to the I-90 express lanes are open to all.
  - The I-90 express lanes are open to HOV only at this location.

Thursday, July 24 – Phase 2 remains in effect until approximately 8 p.m.

10 p.m. to 5 a.m. (closed temporarily for restriping the interstate back to its normal configuration; time is approximate):
- Southbound Bellevue Way general purpose or HOV ramps to westbound I-90. The ramps will not be closed at the same time. When the general purpose ramp is closed all drivers will use the HOV ramp.
- Westbound I-90 ramp to East Mercer Way. Drivers will be detoured to Island Crest Way.
- Northbound and southbound I-405 ramps to westbound I-90. Drivers will be detoured east on I-90 to 148th Avenue S.E. and turned around to travel west on I-90.
