What do you have cumulus doing that it's taxing your hardware so much? I
have it running on an xp laptop that's about 6 years old without an issue.

Weather Display is a very comprehensive software. It does a lot. However
the help file in a word, it stinks. The forum is the only area to get
help. Expect relatively curt answers that generally leave you a little more
perplexed than when you started. I have never got used to that and each
time I have to seek help I cringe. The software writer , while generally a
nice guy, seems to be overwhelmed answering the same questions over and
over resulting in the curt replies. Expect to hear a lot of "no one else
has this problem" as a response. So if you can see you way through the
learning curve it really is a good piece of software that is desperately in
need of a help file. I use Weather Display exclusively for my system and
server.

Ditto about Weather-Display. It can do everything, but the interface is a
hodgepodge of "additional" features being added on over time. A complete
redo of the interface would solve a lot of problems.
I use Weather-Display also, but I started using VWS, and continue to use
that also. A much simplier interface makes it much more fool proof.
Each one has it's pros and cons, which is why I use them both. What about

On their forum you can get a lot of help from other users, and the software
is updated frequently. It supports all sorts of hardware and the author is
open to adding features. As noted, sometimes the answers are curt - but
sometimes not, and if you report a bug with appropriate information, it can
be fixed in a matter of hours, sometimes. This is software with
personality, and its users can be very adamantly supportive (and protective)
of Brian. He's really a dairy farmer in New Zealand.

Weather Display is a very comprehensive software. It does a lot. However the
help file in a word, it stinks. The forum is the only area to get help.
Expect relatively curt answers that generally leave you a little more
perplexed than when you started. I have never got used to that and each time
I have to seek help I cringe. The software writer , while generally a nice
guy, seems to be overwhelmed answering the same questions over and over
resulting in the curt replies. Expect to hear a lot of "no one else has
this problem" as a response. So if you can see you way through the learning
curve it really is a good piece of software that is desperately in need of a
help file. I use Weather Display exclusively for my system and server.

How much memory and cpu is it actually using, from a % point of view?
What's your update interval for the 3 sites? Do you have it doing any extra
logging?

The RaspberryPi seems(!) like a reasonable solution, as it's dedicated
to my PWS, and works great.......

I just looked at mine. I run between 14% - 20% with occasional spikes
higher.
I run:
VWS
WD
WXMesg Server
EMWIN server
Sebectec
VirtualVP
VWSAPRS
Fling (uploads to two websites)
And that CPU utilization included my VNC connection to look at it. And all
of that on a 6 year old Xp box with 1GB of memory.

I wonder if the use of windows 8.1 is somehow in play?
