Yesterday we received 1-1/2" of snow along with a bit of freezing rain, on top of our previous base. Tonight and Wednesday, lake effect snow showers, with snow squalls tomorrow afternoon, look likely with a 2 - 4" accumulation. Additional snow showers are likely Wednesday night and Thursday. A stronger snow maker looks likely over the weekend.
We have 8km of beginner trails open today, including skiing on Woods Lake where skate skiing is excellent. Surface is powder-packed powder and our base is 1 - 3". Older skis are recommended on wooded trails until we receive more snow. As we are not yet track setting, beginner skiers should wait to come until we receive additional snowfall. Facility use is $5 today unless you hold a
Season Pass Membership. 12km of snowshoe trails are open for hiking or snowshoeing (but snowshoes are not required), the smaller of our two tubing hills is open, the pond is open for ice-skating and the lake is open for skiing, ice-skating and kick-sledding.
Rentals and lessons are not available midweek this week. Please pack a lunch. We anticipate opening the Tuulen Tupa Grill for limited lunch service this coming Saturday and Sunday.
We have
lodging availability midweek and for the weekend (low midweek rates are in effect all nights, including weekends, through 12/19). We still have some lodging availability remaining over the holiday week as well.
