*The City of Palo Alto **participated in today's statewide emergency
drill, *the Great California Shakeout 2013.

City employees and the community were alerted to the drill
and asked to take the following actions at 10:17am during the drill:
Drop, Cover, and Hold On.

These quick actions would help protect you from falling objects during
earthquake shaking. If you are driving during a quake you should
pull over and stay in your car until the shaking stops.

In a real emergency, we will provide information and instructions
to keep you informed via AlertSCC. You may also tune in to KZSU 90.1 FM,
call the City's information hotline at 650-329-2420 or
visit www.cityofpaloalto.org [ http://www.cityofpaloalto.org/ ] to
receive updates.

This was a great opportunity for residents, businesses and the
community to test
their earthquake readiness. Learn more about how any communities participated
in this year's The Great California Shakeout [

" Thank you for participating in the Great California Shakeout 2013
statewide drill."
