Linked below is the most recent Underwater Noise Monitoring Plan template (August 2013), and the Fisheries Hydroacoustic Working Group (FHWG) cover letter. The cover letter provides general instructions on use of the template, and indicates that all projects should follow this protocol by October 28, 2013.In an effort to standardize the collection and reporting of underwater noise monitoring data, representatives of several state and federal agencies who are part of the FHWG have proposed and agreed to use the Underwater Noise Monitoring Plan Template for projects where monitoring of underwater noise is required during pile driving or removal.
This monitoring protocol was developed from, and is similar to the protocol that has been used by WSDOT for years. It can be found on the WSDOT website at http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Environment/Biology/BA/BAtemplates.htm#Noise
