Location: 140K3 Line, 8 miles northwest of Butte Meadows
Acres Burned: 6,965 acres
Containment 6,965 acres and 100% contained.
Injuries: 6 injuries
Cause: Under Investigation
Cooperating Agencies: CAL FIRE, USFS (Lassen and Plumas NF), CDCR,
SPI, Collins Pine, Chico Fire Department,
Total Fire Personnel: 821 Firefighters
Engines: 50 Engines
Fire crews: 29 Fire Crews
Helicopters: 1 Helicopters
Dozers: 11 Dozers
Water tenders: 9 Water Tenders
Conditions: The demobilization of firefighting resources continues.
The Unit will assume control of the fire today and will continue
maintenance of control lines.
Road Closures: Unstable road surfaces due to the rain are impeding
resource traffic and are becoming a dangerous situation. Therefore the
L Line has been closed to all traffic. Because of this dangerous
situation we ask that all remain out of the fire area except for fire
personnel. The area between Highway 32 and Highway 36 known as the
Deer Creek and Mill Creek Recreation Area as well as the Ishi
Wilderness are closed tothe public. Highway 32 and Highway36 will
remain open but be aware ofthe heavy fire equipment traffic on those
highways throughout the day.
Additional Information: Sections of the fire have moved into fire
suppression repair stages. More than 80 local government agencies have
assisted with the suppression of this fire. Every Year the first
fullweek of May is proclaimed "WildfireAwareness Week". Remember
todayis Smokey Bears Birthday, Help Prevent Wildfires. This will serve
asthe only fact sheet today and will be issued each morning.

County: Ventura County
Location: Southbound Highway 101 at Camarillo Springs Road, Camarillo
Acres Burned: 24,251 acres
Containment 24,251 acres - 96% contained
Full containment expected tomorrow.
Structures Destroyed: 10 outbuildings have been destroyed
6 damaged commerical properties, and 6 damaged outbuildings.
Evacuations: All evacuations have been lifted.
Injuries: 10
Cause: Under Investigation
Cooperating Agencies: Ventura County Fire Department, CAL FIRE, USFS,
Ventura County Sheriff, National Park Service, California State Parks,
CHP, Ventura County Animal Control, CalEMA, Department of
Correctionsand Rehabilitation, California Conservation Corps, Southern
California Edison and Red Cross.
Total Fire Personnel: 88 Firefighters
Engines: 5 Engines
Fire crews: 4 Fire Crews
Conditions: Acreage has been reduced based upon more accurate mapping.
Continue to mop up in areas very visible to public to reduce public
concern. Continue demobilization, fire damage inspections, and
suppression repair.
Road Closures:
All evacuations and road closures have been lifted and evacuation
centers closed.
Florida Fires: 1 Acres: 900 * New fires: 2 Fires contained: 1
* May Day (Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge): 900 acres at 30
percent contained. This fire is five miles east of Titusville.
* Camo (Florida Forest Service): This fire was contained at 375 acres.
Puerto Rico Fires: 1 Acres: 300 * New fires: 1 Fires contained: 0
* Impact Area (Vieques National Wildlife Refuge): 300 acres. This fire
is seven miles east of Vieques.
Wyoming Fires: 0 Acres: 0 * New fires: 1 Fires contained: 1
* Big Fork (Bighorn County): This fire was contained at 1,512 acres.
