Prepare for snow and ice during Thursday morning commute

Below-freezing temperatures and flurries are expected during the Jan.10, Thursday morning commute in Whatcom and Skagit Counties. It is possible higher elevations in King and Snohomish will see snow, too. WSDOT is prepared for snow and ice. Crews are de-icing highways tonight and have 17 trucks ready to respond to the weather. Remember: Stopping distance increases in snowy conditions. It's a good idea to leave at least three times more space than usual between you and the vehicle in front of you. Other tips can be found on the WSDOT winter weather website.
