FREIGHT TRAVEL ALERT - ROAD/PASS CLOSURE LOCATION: US 2 Stevens Pass from milepost 64 at the summit to milepost 99 at the west end of Leavenworth  DETOUR: I-90 Snoqualmie Pass and US 97 Blewett Pass DETAILS: US 2 Stevens Pass remains closed in both directions due to the potential for more snow laden trees to fall onto the roadway. Current clear and cold weather isn't causing branches to shed the excess snow. Tomorrow's forecast calls for 8+" of new snow. On Wednesday WSDOT plans to conduct a test to see if helicopter backwash can dislodge the heavy snow and ice from trees threatening the highway. Until the conditions change to allow vehicles to travel the highway safely, it will remain closed. Updates will be provided as changes occur.
