Snowflakes are Falling at Lapland Lake!

It's been snowing today. We received 3" of a moist packing snow
Friday (perfect
for base-building) along with midday rain followed by below freezing
temperatures and another inch of powdery snow last night. So
far today we've
received another 1+" of accumulation. A more significant
snowmaker is
likely Wednesday night and Thursday.
There are still wet areas on the trails today. Some trails have
been packed
to help them dry with below freezing temperatures tonight. We
expect to open
some trails for Sunday.
These are early season conditions not recommended for beginners
as there is
not adequate snow depth for tracksetting. Rock skis are advised.
With
more snow in our forecast midweek you may wish to wait until
then to get in
your first ski - our current conditions are less than ideal.
12km of snowshoe
trails will be available and the smaller of our two tubing hills will be
open. Please check our online Snow Condition Report this report
in the morning
before driving up.

Our "Finnish Line" Lodge, both food service locations and our retail shop
will be open Sunday, but there will be no lessons or rentals
available (rental
gear will be available to overnight guests).

We have two positions available for the winter season, one in
our rental shop
and the other as a cashier in our retail shop. Weekends and
holidays are required
(excluding Christmas Day when the Hirvonen family works but the
staff is
given the day off to spend with their families). Please call if
