The king of romance Yash Chopra passed away on Sunday after suffering
from dengue. DNA lists some of the most memorable films made by the
legendary film-maker.
Waqt (1965)
The film pioneered the concept of films with multiple stars with
actorslike Balraj Sahni , Sunil Dutt , Sadhana Raaj Kumar, Shashi
Kapoor , Sharmila Tagore in the film.
This multi-starrer concept was later used in many films in Bollywood
after this one.
Ittefaq (1969)
Starring Rajesh Khanna , Nanda , Bindu the film was a remake of the
British film Signpost to Murder (1965) starring Joanne Woodward . The
film was one of the first Bollywood movies that did not have any
singing or dancing in it and wasa digression from other films at that
time.
Daag: A Poem of Love (1973)
The film directed by Yash Chopra was his debut as a producer, which
laid the foundation of Yash Raj Films. The film starring Sharmila
Tagore, Rajesh Khanna, Raakhee was made at the height of the Rajesh
Khanna's career and became a "super hit" at the box office.
