Baltimore Gun Trafficking Investigation Nets Five Defendants Baltimore, Maryland – Following an investigation of firearms trafficking in Baltimore City, a federal grand jury has indicted five defendants in three separate cases, on firearms related charges including: unlawful possession of an unregistered firearm; possession of a firearm and/or ammunition by an illegal alien, possession and sale of a stolen firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The indictments were returned on June 3, 2015, and unsealed upon the arrest of the defendants. Denver Gang Member Indicted for Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition DENVER – Ronald Odean Bryant, age 22, of Denver, Colorado, has been indicted on May 20, 2015 by a federal grand jury in Denver on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and being a felon in possession of ammunition, U.S. Attorney John Walsh and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Denver Division Special Agent in Charge Luke Franey announced. Prior to the indictment, Bryant was charged by Criminal Complaint on May 15, 2015. On May 29, 2015 the court ordered that both the original Complaint and the formal charging document, the indictment, be unsealed. The defendant is currently in state custody on unrelated charges. No date has yet been set for when Bryant will be brought to federal court for his initial appearance. New York Business Pays $3.5 Million for Trafficking in Contraband Cigarettes KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Tammy Dickinson, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced that a retail business operating on a reservation in the state of New York paid more than $3.5 million in penalties today for its role in a conspiracy to transport hundreds of thousands of cartons of contraband cigarettes from the Kansas City, Mo., area to the state of New York, where they were sold primarily on Indian reservations.
