Updated...Pilot Russell Hackler Passes Away from Injuries Sustained in
Afternoon Crash
San Andreas, CA....(Update..Familynotifications have been completed
but few additional details are available yet. The pilot was Russell
Hackler of Danville, CA that sadly passed away.) On 11/23/2012 at
approximately 1542 hours, the Calaveras County Sheriff Department was
dispatched to a report of a plane crash 3/4 quarter miles south of
Calaveras County Airport. Deputies arrived on scene and confirmed
there was a single occupant aircraft down. The occupant of that
aircraft succumbed to his injuries on scene.The aircraft is described
as an experimental aircraft. This case hasbeen transferred to FAA and
NTSB for further investigation. The Calaveras Sheriff Department has
no further information at this time..
